After twelve years of desktop computer, I finally opted for a laptop, so I will not go to my desk anymore. After several months of research and weight, I settled on the Dell Inspiron 600m notebook computer. This special model has exceeded all my expectations and at a price which is less than hundreds of dollars compared to many competing brands.
For several months I have yearned for the purchase of my next computer I knew that I need more mobiles and only one notebook computer would allow me to take my “show on the road”. Even so, the decision making process was not easy because there was a difference in the number of different types and models. Eventually, I settled on Dell in part due to the good experience of the previous product with the company.
The model I chose was Inspiron 600 meters. With almost everything, which makes Dell, it’s a “new” model; There is at least 600 meters designation. This is one of the things to confuse about Dell and some other manufacturers: Dell launches new models every month and you need a scorecard to compare a model with everyone else. Fortunately, Dell’s website allows you to do this.
Main features of Inspiron 600 meters include:
Lightweight: More than just five pounds.
Mobile Centrino Technology is standard.
14.1 inch screen
Pentium M725 processor
24X CD Burner / DVD Combo Drive
256MB DDR SDRAM 1 Dim Memory
Wireless network card
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
WordPerfect Productivity Pack
I kept my computer quite basic, but I chose the latest version of Norton Security, a Surge Protected Cable, a Wyler Router and a Wireless Mouse. I chose the wireless mouse because I thought it would be difficult to use the keyboard mouse. After two days I stopped using the wireless mouse because I was quickly created in one.
The screen is bright and the keyboard is solid. Mouse keys, however, are noisy, almost clanky; You wonder if Dell could use a cool spring for each key.
The battery lasts for at least four hours without recharge and when I need to recharge, I can go almost completely charged charging in less than an hour.
For the price – I just paid more than $ 1100. For everything, including shipping and local taxes – Dell can not be defeated. I do not have to call the customer service yet, so I can not comment on that, though in the last years your call will be sent to a technician in India. This model comes with standard one-year limited warranty; I avoided the sales pitch later on to get a three-year warranty on the phone. Their top line warranty sends a technician to your home to fix your computer, so it may be an option for those of you who do not want to ship – and thus – repair your computer Use Dell Back for
Inspiron 600 meters will be enough for you standard business functions. If you design a lot of graphic or if you need a bigger screen, then check out their innumerable other models. I’m happy with the 14.1 screen, but you can like their 17 “model.
